Art Journal: "Storms"

My latest OCD-inducing creative outlet is Art Journaling. I'm working with acrylic paints, watercolor pencils, watercolor paints (yes, the kind you can get at the dollar store), black markers, white markers, learning how to doodle (who knew you had to learn how to do that!), draw flowers, trees, face, lettering and obsessing over using
bright colors for a change.

AND LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT!
What fun it is to doodle and paint and
not care if the end result is perfect.

More Christmas Cards

I guess I'm in an Ornament themed mode this year. These cards received rave reviews from the recipients! Super easy and super fast. I used my Fiskars paper trimmer to make the border and a circle cutter to make the ornament. Make a bow, add some ribbon and a piece of colored card stock (to the red version) and viola (oops voila!) - done and done. Fast and easy to replicate for making multiple cards.

Christmas 2013 Ornament Card

I am in LOVE with this card!  I drew the silver "string" line with a VersaMark pen, then embossed it with silver embossing powder. I stamped the ornaments with VersaMark ink and embossed with the same embossing powder. I used a foam ink applicator to apply pink and green ink to the ornaments. I made the silver "hooks" from silver jewelry wire and adhered them with glue dots and stamped the small snowflakes in green ink. I so wanted to keep this card and not give it away!

Christmas Card 2013

I stole the idea from Flickr, but made my own changes to the design. Love it!

Friend's Birthday at Work

I have seen these time and time again online and always wanted to make one. So, for a gag gift for a friend at work, I made one for her birthday. She LOVES chocolate. It's a Hershey Bar wrapped in foil and then brown paper and finally a homemade label adhered to the top. I had a lot of fun making this!

And her card...

Who eats green cake??? These were the colors I had, so that's what I used!

Beaded Sandal

This was my first completed beaded foot sandal. It took 4 attempts to get it right. You wouldn't believe how difficult it is to size these things!

New Jewelry

These simple bangle bracelets are elegant and so easy to make!
They take only minutes once I've formulated the design.

More 2012 Holiday Art Journaling

Acrylic paint, then chalk to outline the template.

More acrylic paint, then stamping.

Spray acrylic paint using a water spritzer, then dry and stamped over with red and white inks.
Same as above then chalk to outline the swirl. Then inking through a stencil.

While on holiday - 2012

Metallic acrylic paints - gold and brown. Wish you could see the shimmer!

An art journal page or some of this may become a card front. Matte Acrylic paints and black Staz-on ink. Used an old credit card to swipe the pink ink and a flat paint brush to apply the yellow paint. The swirls are a clear stamp only partially inked.
Sketch paper, stencil and grey Staz-on ink. Brown ink applied with a sponge dauber for the soft outline, tore the paper and then inked the edges with black.
